CERTIFICATE IN EQUINE SKILLS
The purpose of this qualification is to provide passionate learners with the specialist skills and knowledge required to assist in the stabling, care and exercise of horses in the thoroughbred racing industry.

Through the Certificate programme held at Byerley Park, learners will become equipped with skills and knowledge that can be applied to entry-level positions in the performance horse sectors of the equine industry, allowing graduates of this programme to contribute effectively to the workplace.

EDUCATION PATHWAY:

New Zealand Certificate in Equine Racing (Level 4) with strands

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Domestic Students
-
Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident;

Be aged 16 years or older

Hold an NZ Certificate of Equine Skills Level 2;

OR have a basic riding experience and be accessed by Byerley Park staff and have a keen interest in the equine industry, and successfully attend an interview;
International Students

Students must be aged 18 or older

Have an NZCEL Level 3 General, Workplace or Academic or IELTS General or Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5

Hold an NZ Certificate of Equine Skills Level 2;

OR have a basic riding experience, be accessed by Byerley Park staff, have a keen interest in the equine industry, and successfully attend an interview.
