CERTIFICATE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE (LEVEL 2)
This programme supports elementary English learners (CEFR mid B1) to build confidence and skills for everyday communication in basic, familiar, and supported everyday contexts found in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
It is designed for a diverse range of learners, including domestic students, former refugees, recent migrants, and those eligible for Pre-purchased English Language Tuition (PELT), and offers a culturally responsive, real-life learning experience.
Learners will develop foundational competence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while gaining confidence and fluency in real-life communication. Graduates will be ready to progress to NZCEL Level 3, further study, and active participation in New Zealand society and work.

Course Duration: 20 Weeks
Course hours: 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, 4 days per week
EDUCATION PATHWAY:
Graduates may progress into the New Zealand Certificate in English Language (General) (Level 3)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must be 16 years or older.

Candidates must EITHER have achieved NZCEL (Level 1) OR

Candidates must take part in a selection interview and will be required to take a placement test to determine their current English Language level and learning goals.

Placement in this programme will be determined by the Skill NZ Placement Test according to language proficiency.
