WHY STUDY HEALTH?

Health and wellbeing is a meaningful pathway for people who want to support others and make a positive difference in their communities. At Skill NZ, our Health and Wellbeing programmes are designed to help learners build practical knowledge, confidence and hands-on skills for the healthcare and community support sector.

Whether you are starting with no previous experience or already working in healthcare and wanting to grow your skills, our programmes offer clear study pathways from Certificate to Diploma level. Learning combines theory with applied practice, helping you understand real-world health and wellbeing needs while developing the professional skills required to work with people, whānau and communities.

Our approach is culturally respectful and inclusive, with learning that recognises diverse identities, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the importance of person-centred care. After completing a Health and Wellbeing programme, learners may be prepared for employment or further study in their chosen area of the health and wellbeing sector.
