General English - Beginner 1 (Micro-Credential) (Level 1)

The purpose of this micro-credential is to equip true beginner learners with the foundational skills needed to engage in basic social and practical interactions in English.

It aims to build learners' confidence in navigating everyday situations and provides a platform for future English language development.

It is aimed at new New Zealanders, New Zealand residents, migrants/refugees and overseas learners/ākonga that require a beginner English language programme to improve functional literacy.

It supports learners in communicating effectively and appropriately in basic English, consolidating any previous knowledge, and gaining an introduction to New Zealand culture and lifestyle to enhance real-world engagement.
