General English - Elementary (Micro-credential) (Level 2)
The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide learners with the fundamental skills to communicate in simple yet meaningful ways in English. By building on the foundation of previous learning, this programme will expand learners/ākonga' vocabulary and grammar knowledge, enhancing their ability to comprehend and produce basic language in both personal and social contexts.
This level will help learners/ākonga gain the confidence to participate in simple conversations, express personal information, and navigate everyday situations with greater independence.

Write a simple text for a practical purpose in English language - 5 Credits

Listen to and understand a straightforward English language spoken text on a familiar topic - 5 Credits

Listen to and understand a straightforward English language spoken interaction on a familiar topic - 5 Credits

Read and understand a straightforward English language written text on a familiar topic - 5 Credits

Read and understand a range of straightforward English language written texts independently - 5 Credits

Participate in a straightforward spoken interaction on a familiar topic in English language - 5 Credits

Participate in an interview on a familiar topic in English language - 5 Credits
The course will provide learners with the language skills needed to navigate everyday life more effectively and prepare them for further English study. Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking will be at a CEFR mid B1 level at the end of this course.
DURATION & HOURS:
Programme Duration: 13 weeks
Class Hours: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm + SDL, Monday to Friday.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
All learner's/ ākonga's English language ability is assessed at entry and the appropriate level of General English micro credential is determined.
