General English - Pre-Intermediate (Micro-credential) (LEVEL3)

The purpose of this micro-credential is to help learners expand their language skills, allowing them to communicate with more fluency and confidence in a wider range of everyday situations.

 

By developing a broader vocabulary and improving their ability to understand spoken and written English, learners/ākonga will gain greater independence in expressing opinions, preferences, and ideas.

PROGRAMME CONTENT:
  • Write a connected text on a familiar topic in English language        - 5 Credits

  • Write a response for a specific purpose in English language            - 5 Credits

  • Listen to and understand an English language spoken text on a familiar topic - 5 Credits

  • Listen to and understand an English language spoken interaction in a familiar context - 5 Credits

  • Read and understand an English language written text on a familiar topic - 5 Credits

  • Read and understand a range of English language written texts independently - 5 Credits

  • Participate in a spoken interaction on a familiar topic in English language - 5 Credits

  • Deliver a developed presentation on a familiar topic in English language - 5 Credits

 

The Learners will demonstrate improved listening skills, enabling them to follow conversations, instructions, and short announcements, and they will be better equipped to engage in discussions on topics related to daily activities, work, education, and culture. Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking will be at a CEFR high B1 level by the end of this course.

Programme Duration: 13 weeks

Class Hours: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm + SDL, Monday to Friday.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
All learner's/ ākonga English language ability is assessed at entry and the appropriate level of General English micro credential is determined.
