Before you apply -please read this information

Please take the time to read this to understand exactly what is required to make use of this opportunity to study Healthcare at the leading healthcare training facility in New Zealand.

Polyethnic Institute is ranked the Number 1 PTE in Healthcare Training in NZ and in the top 3% overall (see NZ Government agency, TEC official ranking) placing the Institute 7th.

87% of our graduates have jobs in aged care even before they complete Level 4 Health care qualifications due to our quality in training that is delivered by medical professionals.

Our Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications require 5.5 on IELTS (or attending high school in an English medium school). The qualification is open to anybody that has a background in Healthcare or finished High School with a C+ in Biology or Science.

Nurses and medical doctors use these studies as a pathway to earn while they study and some use the time to get 7 on IELTS to enable them to get into the CAP programme for nurses in New Zealand.

The financial scenario that a student could potentially be looking at when they are studying with us when they secure a job in an aged care facility as follows:

The 20 hours that you are permitted to work is stipulated by law for International students that give students the right to work 20 hours per week. Therefore, the International student has the possibility to earn $19 (minimum wage) x20hrs= $380 per week. x 52 weeks =$19760 in the first year while they study. That's the first year. The second year after completing the first year, you will have a Level 4 Qualification in Health and the minimum wage for L4 will be $23.50 (minimum wages) per hour @ 20 hours per week= $470 per week x 52 weeks= $24440. That's is the second year. In the third year there is no study, but by law and completion of Level 5 in Health, you are permitted to work full time 40 hours per week for one year which is $960 per week x 52 weeks = $48000 per year.

Please be reminded that the minimum wages of the Healthcare aged care worker are statutorily regulated by the New Zealand Government Ministry of Health (see attached the Ministry of Health publication on minimum wages).

Your study fees are set at $10000 for Level 4 and if the student re-enrol in Level 5, the amount will be $8000. Admin fee is $500 and the fee excludes the International health Insurance that is currently $527 for 52 weeks. Total fee, admin and health included, $11057 for the first year and $9057 in the second year. Currency is NZD. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY YET, ONLY WHEN NZ IMMIGRATION REQUEST and only the first year fees.

In addtion, you will need to show , NZ  Immigration that you have at least $15000 in your own bank account before they will issue you a visa.
